Ramadan and the Qur’an are twins. You cannot enjoy the fast without tasting the jewels of the Qur’an.
WCIC provides you different opportunities to connect with the Qur’an.
Qur’an Halaqa (Recitation of the Qur’an):
Saturdays and Sundays after Fajr Prayer
Qur’an for slow readers:
If you are slow in reading, no worry take your time. Come to our class on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays at 7:00 pm until maghrib time. We will also have our iftar together afterwards.
Qur’an memorization and/or review:
Talk to the imam to set a time.
Living with the Companions of the Prophet (PBUH)
Monday, Wednesday and Thursday: a short reminder after Zuhr Prayer that reminds us with one of the Companions of the Prophets. We always adore of that generation who carried the first banner of Islam, but we rarely read about them. For 10 minutes, we will live with one of those Companions, praying to Allah to join them in His Jannah in when our day comes.
Ramadan and Muslim Family
Ramadan is meant for all members of the family to enjoy. WCIC provides two Ramadan Programs for the family members.
Sunday 11:00 am – 1:00 pm: Qur’an and Tajweed.
This is the chance to read the Qur’an with a focus on proper pronunciation and rules of recitation. Tajweed is one of the most honorable sciences in Islam as it helps the Muslim not only to speak the word of Allah but also to taste its sweetness.
Wednesday 11:30 am – 1:30 pm: Hadith and Fiqh
This is our time to increase our knowledge of deen. The more knowledge we have, the better Muslims we will be.
Sunday 4:00 – 6:00 pm: Ramadan Fun Time
The Kids (age 6 and up) will come together to play games, enjoy quizez and practice their deen. They will learn adhan, iqama, wudu’, dhikr, etc. through fun activities.
Wednesday 5:00 – 6:30 pm: Recitation of the Qur’an and Stories of some Muslim Figures
This is the time where we sit in the masjid to read review out short suras, tell stories about them and talk about Muslim figures.
If you would like to review or memorize the Qur’an, a one to one session can be set.
