We would, however, like to continue with some of our activities. We are in need of volunteers for the following projects: The third Friday of every month in a downtown Oakland masjid, we have a halal dinner and activities for underprivileged Muslims. This should be done in the child’s home or nearby library. Volunteers are needed for the following: Math & Science – 12 & 13 year old brothers in San Pablo Math, Science & English for a 7th grade boy in Pleasant Hill Algebra 2 & Biology for High School student in Oakland Trigonometry and chemistry in June in Oakland Also on either the third or fourth Saturday of each month we need help distributing food to low-income families. The Rahima Foundation provides the food. It is delivered to one location in Oakland where we pick it up and deliver it to various families. Muslims in need of clothing, furniture, temporary shelter, food, money etc sometimes contact us for emergency help. If you cannot help on a regular basis but might be available in an emergency, please let us know what you would be willing to do. If you can help with any of these projects, please contact Fatima El-Gasseir at 925-932-4504 |
